Mountain Dew Ends Endorsement Deal With Lil Wayne Over “Emmett Till” Lyric?

It seems as if rap artists currently just can’t seem to satisfy their sponsors. Or, could it be that all of these corporate franchises who are trying to endorse Hip Hop, are actually too sensitive to tolerate the environment. Hip Hop was built around raw, edgy and confrontational stand points. In today’s news, the Associated Press reports that PepsiCo brand Mountain Dew has just ended their endorsement deal with YMCMB rap president Lil Wayne over some rap lyrics…as in the Rick Ross x Reebok situation. 8. Kid Cudi – Indicud – 36,000 – Following a few listens, this album personally didn’t do much for me. It’s selling well, so congrats to buddy for that. “Pursuit Of Happiness,” however, is one of the most important life songs of the past decade though. No hyperbole.

2. KiD CuDi – Indicud – 136,000 - I’m still trying to decide how I feel about this album. Nevertheless, pushing this in the first week with no real radio/TV push is quite impressive. Or good. Pun sorta-kinda intended.
