24 Hours. Four studios. One remix.

That’s all it took to bring this quirky remix come to life. Many will probably remember ¡MAYDAY! as the group that rocked out with Wayne on the top of that Miami hotel while filming videos for the Rebirth album before his Rikers sentence began.

This video is their own creation and they also brought Ghostwridah, Mack Maine and the legendary Cee-Lo along for the ride on a song titled after one of the most superstitious days of the year. Speaking of “Groundhog Day,” I – and the entire DMV – could use the spring time that right about now.

Speaking of ¡MAYDAY!, check out their DJ Booth sponsored mixtape Lords Of The Fly.

Mr. Peter Parker recently caught up with Gudda Gudda and Mack Maine in Minnesota for a brief interview. The two discuss and praise Nicki Minaj’s rise to present day popularity from her days on the SMACK DVD circuit. They also speak about what to expect from Weezy and the label as a whole as 2011 moves along – including Drake and Wayne’s upcoming collaboration album. In regards to Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch The Throne, Mack simply had this to say, “Good luck.”

Not to be overlooked, expect Guddaville 3, which will be hosted by DJ Drama, to drop later this year.

Earlier today, a report broke out which centered around Lil Wayne, Mack Maine and several other members of the Young Money roster. According to the letter, a young woman – who is of a darker complexion – and her friends were in Miami finishing photoshoots when they went to visit the YM crew at a hotel. Upon seeing them Wayne allegedly said, “Damn,  y’all pretty to be dark skin.” The story goes from there that the woman mentioned Weezy’s oldest child was dark skinned leading him to respond with, “My daughter is a dark skin millionaire. That’s the difference between her and you.” The two supposedly have a brief back and forth and she and her friends storms out the room.

That’s a controversial story, but the questions remain: why would Wayne, Maine and the Young Money crew be in a random Miami hotel when it is well known they have condos in the area?  And why were they all in one room? It’s the small details which give you the side eye when taking time to digest the entire story. This claim led to both Weezy and Mack Maine taking to their Twitter accounts to refute the claims.

As fellow Cash Money affiliates Lil Wayne, B.G., Juvenile, Mack Maine and Baby made their way into the Fifth African Baptist Church in New Orleans this morning, hundreds of fans gathered outside the church to pay tribute to fallen hometown rapper Magnolia Shorty.

In addition to Weezy and his crew, a number of other local bounce artists made their presence felt at the funeral, including Partners-N-Crime, Kilo G, DJ Jubilee, Big Freeda and Ms. Tee, who was the first female artist to sign with Cash Money, followed by Shorty in 1995, who was the label’s second, and last, female member.

The closed funeral began at 11 a.m., and while more than 1,000 friends and relatives packed into the brick house of worship, the street outside was overflowing with nearly 1,500 fans paying tribute to the bounce legend. Many were wearing shirts in praise of Shorty (born Renetta Lowe), 28, with messages such as “R.I.P. Magnolia Shorty” and “We Love You Renetta,” as well as buttons that read “Forever ‘Shorty.’ ”

Her murder came seven years after the November 2003 killing of another New Orleans rapper, James “Soulja Slim” Tapp, whose original stage name was Magnolia Slim and who grew up with Shorty in the Magnolia housing projects and gave her the Magnolia Shorty stage name.

The funeral was to be followed by a traditional New Orleans second line celebration in which her casket was be paraded down the street accompanied by musicians, friends, family and supporters.

According to Young Money boss Mack Maine, Wayne is set to release the first single from his forthcoming Tha Carter IV LP by the end of December, simply titled “6’7″.”

“We definitely dropping it before the end of the year,” Mack revealed to MTV News. “We ready to go now; we getting it mixed.”

Lil Wayne insider DJ Scoob Doo compared the track to frenetic fan favorite “A Milli”: “Just Think A 2010 Version Of A Milli…But On [Steroids],” he tweeted.

Mack agreed with the comparison, adding, “Just make sure you all remember two words: Cory Gunz. Incredible.”

Cory Gunz, of course, is the latest addition to Young Money and the progeny of late-’90s rapper Peter Gunz. Mack hinted the young MC will appear on “6’7″.”
