Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj will take the stage at the BET Awards.

BET announced Tuesday that India.Arie and Ciara will join the former “American Idol” judges as performers at the June 30 awards show.

Previously announced performers include Chris Brown, Miguel, R. Kelly and Kendrick Lamar.

Rapper-singer Drake leads with 12 nominations, while Lamar and 2 Chainz are up for eight awards each.

Chris Tucker will host the BET Awards live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Presenters include Paula Patton, LaLa Anthony, Angela Bassett and Gabrielle Union.

Mariah Carey hits with some interesting news today. By way of her long time producing collaborator and friend Jermaine Dupri, Mariah has officially announced the titled of her 14th album (among a list of other platinum albums and holiday projects since 1990). The new album goes by the name “The Art of Letting Go” and is set to drop on July 23rd. Of course American Idol acted as a great pedestal for the album release, along side her new smash collabo “Beautiful” with Miguel that she just performed on the Summer Jam XX stage. For all you #lambs out there as Mariah would call you, stay tuned this summer released under Island Records with expected production appearances from The Dream, JD, music industry heavy weights like Rodney Jerkins and more.

Those who have come to love the on-air back-and-forth between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey hopefully never deleted those old DVR episodes because that run is officially over. Both Carey and Minaj announced via Twitter yesterday they would not be returning to American Idol. (more…)

Keeping the momentum going, shortly after releasing her latest single, Mariah Carey follows that up with the official visual to “Beautiful” featuring Miguel. Video is directed by Joseph Kahn and the track will set to appear on Mrs. Cannon’s upcoming album which she is currently working on.

Mrs. Cannon returns to the music scene and brings along her latest single “Beautiful” featuring the highly talented R&B phenom Miguel. Two reining music icons, one being Mariah Carey and the other, Nicki Minaj have hit the media again bumping heads, but is this time a bit worse than before? The show “American Idol” is now down to its final 4 contestants, where both Mariah & Nicki sit on the panel and can’t seem to be in agreement on anything. Shots were fired on the last episode where Mariah Carey indirectly bashed Nicki Minaj’s comments toward the finalists; clearly in intent to stir up some controversy  Nicki Minaj, after the show, took her twitter account and stated Mariah Carey as an insecure 43 year old; and also said that previous judge Jennifer Lopez’s phone is ringing to come back next season.
