A few weeks ago, 2 Chainz expressed his feelings on discovering his right to vote despite his felonious past before the 2008 Presidential Election. Since then, the Atlanta rapper has become very active in voter awareness for convicted felons and young voters across the country. Now that the 2012 Election is over, the Respect My Vote! campaign spokesman wrote a note to the Hip-Hop generation describing his pride for our country in his own words: “Hip-hop, we should celebrate. Whether you voted for President Obama or Governor Romney, we demonstrated that we are a political force, and that we cannot be ignored.” For the full letter, hit the jump. (more…)

Jay Z & Beyonce

The New York Post announced today that hip-hop super couple, Jay-Z and Beyoncé will be hosting a fund-raiser for President Barack Obama‘s campaign at Jay-Z‘s 40/40 club September 18th. Apparently the private event is capped at 100 guests, whose attendance fee is a total of $40,000 per ticket. The cost of dining with the President of the United States and the hip-hop mogul is surely a high one. Earlier in the day, Obama will be posing for pictures with families for a price of $12,500 at a reception. Clearly, this one’s reserved for the ballers.

Beyonce sang for the Obama’s First Inaugural Dance in 2009. She then remade “Get Me Bodied” into “Move Your Body” for First Lady Michelle Obama’s ”Let’s Move” Campaign to fight childhood obesity. Last month, The Carters were seen at First Lady Obama’s fundraising dinner in New York. You would think that Mrs. Obama is quite fond of Mrs. Carter. Beyonce recently took the time to pen an open letter to First Lady Obama to show that the feelings are mutual. Her husband Jay-Z has already shown his support for President Barack Obama in an interview for E! Online by saying,

“I still think he is the best man for the job,Yes, I think he got a raw deal and a bad economy. You wouldn’t be given anything you can’t handle so he must be really special, because he has a lot of work to do!”

The letter spoke of Beyonce’s admiration of the First Lady and even gives a reference to how proud she is to have Baby Blue Ivy Carter grow up in a world where Mrs. Obama can be her role model. You can read the entire letter below.

“Michelle, is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. She is a caring mother, she’s a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!! No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope – she’s humble, loving, and sincere. She builds and nurtures her family, while also looking out for so many millions in so many ways. Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that u do for us – I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to. Love, Beyonce.”
