Shanell performed Last night at Miami hot spot Lux South Beach, it was only right that Young Money’s Lil Wayne and Mack Maine come support.

Young Money’s resident Pop-punkette Shanell aka SNL goes by the beat of her own fun drum in the new underground video for her remake of Simian Mobil Disco’s  “It’s The Beat.” Shanell’s remake track is from her hit summer mixtape “Shut Up  & Listen,” which has garnered 2 million downloads to date.

Honey Magazine catches up with Shanell and opens up about the creative process that goes into making her album, her input on Wayne’s “Ground Zero” video, new projects (which include working with Ludacris and Melanie Fiona), her “Married To The Mob” venture and more.

The homie Karla world premiere’d this yesterday.  Nicki Minaj’s buzz continues to increases seemingly by the minute. Shanell grabs her Young Money co-queen for this Chase N. Cashe produced record. Cupid is the name. Love is the game. And he’s got a gun.

The memories from this past weekend continue to stockpile. For everyone who was in attendance at the Sixth Annual Roots Jam Session Saturday night, they know it was something special and one of the weekend’s shining moments. The Roots are by far Hip-Hop’s most talented and respected live band it was none the more evident than this night.

It was great to see Scott Storch back creating music again, but Jay Electronica’s performance of his critically acclaimed track, “Exhibit C,” sent everyone in attendance over the top. It truly is crazy to see how one track can do so much for an artist’s buzz in the industry. Let’s just hope Jay continues with this momentum and translates it into an official release of some sort. Of course, Young Money was in attendance as well. Mack Maine and Shanell graced the stage with The Roots as she performed her song, “Glamorous Life.” Lil’ Twist was also in the building.
