Common brought out a special guest last night in L.A. while promoting his new The Dreamer, The Believer album.

The rapper was spotted at the House Of Blues where he brought out Stevie Wonder during a freestyle.

The pair shared the stage while the music great dropped adlibs to Common’s verses.

In related news, Comm’s The Dreamer, The Believer album dropped Tuesday but unfortunately is projected to sell only between 55-65K copies.

According to Hits Daily Double,

“Windy City hip-hop icon Common’s Think Common/Warner Bros. bow, The Dreamer/The Believer, looks headed for first-week sales of between 55-65k. His last album, 2008′s Universal Mind Control, on G.O.O.D./Geffen, debuted with 82k.

Common has responded to Drake after the Young Money rapper seemingly took offense to his track “Sweet.”

As previously reported on “Sweet” Common fires shots at “soft mothaf*ckas” who are “singing like Frank Sinatra.”

“Y’all soft mothaf*ckas, singing all around me man, la la la/ You ain’t motherf*ckin’ Frank Sinatra/Uh, lil’ b*tch…Sweet Ass Mothaf*cka.”

And over the weekend, Drake told fans at Power 106FM’s Cali Christmas Concert that if anyone had anything to say to him, they should say it to his face, more than likely referencing Common’s track.

“I will never stop doing this for ya’ll. I don’t give a f*ck if you have something to say to me. Say it to my muthaf*ckin’ face. Just cause I sing don’t make me no b-tch.”

Com obviously got word of Drizzy’s rant (He was at the Cali Christmas concert as well) and responded early Monday on Tony Sculfield And The Morning Riot’s radio show.

Common was a recent guest on Chelsea Lately where he spoke on a number of topics including his role on AMC’s “Hell On Wheels” and of course his The Dreamer, The Believer album.

The late night host also made sure to get more personal with the rapper and joked about his love for…ahem…big asses…and “all shapes and sizes of women.”

Hi @Serena.

The Dreamer, The Believer hits stores Tuesday.

Common has released a new track off his upcoming The Dreamer, The Believer album.

Titled “Raw”, the track features production from No I.D. from the project dropping December 20.

Sidebar: I actually had the opportunity to attend Common’s listening party in Atlanta and this track was one of the first he played for us.

Much like on “Raw” and “Sweet”, the album altogether has the tenacity and real Hip-Hop feel that only Mr. Sense can deliver.

#CommonBack.

Did he really ever leave though?

Everything I’ve heard from this album thus far leads me to believe we could be looking at a last minute addition for a potential album of the year candidate. No I.D. Instagram’d this photo last night only causing the anticipation for the project to increase a few more notches. The Dreamer, The Believer hits shelves (and iTunes) five days before Christmas. So if you’re looking for a gift for me, book mark this page as a reminder.

You have to be doing something right to get Maya Angelou as a guest feature though.

1. Someone pissed Common the hell off. And I thank that person/those people.

2. My apologies for the tardiness in posting this. Better late than never though and it’s not like this lost any potency from when it initially dropped.

3. I saw a comment in regards to this song the other day saying it should have been called “The Bitch In Yoo 2k11.” They weren’t too far off.

4. No I.D. producing all of Lonnie’s new album, The Dreamer, The Believer, is looking like a stupendous idea. Yes, stupendous.

5. Someone pissed Common the hell off. Again, I thank that person/those people. Hip Hop is a better place because of your transgressions.

Common’s always been a man of the world. So hearing the MC-turnt-actor visited the still-ravaged land of Haiti wasn’t exactly that big of a surprise. Commendable, yes. Shocking? Not really. That said, it was also not jaw dropping to hear Lonnie shot a video for “Sweet” set to appear on his new album The Dreamer, The Believer (which should be something worth anticipating since it’s been Lord knows how long since we’ve got a new album from him).

The footage acts as both a behind the scenes look as well a brief glimpse into what Com and his band of revolutionaries (I guess that’s the right term) saw when visiting the country.
