[New Video] Future Ft. Trae Tha Truth “Long Live The Pimp”

Despite the fact that videos now and days require very minimal effort, at least most of the songs are great to listen to. ATL rapper Future takes his talents even further down to the HO, Houston, to link up with rapper Trae Tha Truth for this collaborative effort “Long Live The Pimp”. The video features low riders, a lot of UGK reppin and ton of double-cupped boasting and braggin. Just how we like our hip hop music videos. Check it out after the jump!

The mass influx of music from H-Town’s Trae Tha Truth marches forward. Available now on iTunes, Trae and his ABN Renegadez present Welcome 2 The Streets. Found on said project is the Meek Mill assisted number “See Ya Lookin’.” Aggressive and hard hitting as to be expected by the line up, Trae’s verses mesh well with a hook from Meek that’ll have you damn near ready to bench everything if heard in the gym.

Speaking of Meek, however, Dreamchasers 2 drops April 24. Plan accordingly.

The original “I’m On” was one of the better tracks of 2011. Trae obviously realized the same thing and decided to go to the well once again by dishing out “I’m On 2.0″ with an entirely new cast of characters. And just look at the title, heavy hitters are definitely in a surplus. Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Jadakiss, B.o.B., Tyga, Gudda Gudda, Bun B and, wait for it, Mark Morrison.

This track’s predecessor was so dope mainly because all the MC’s involved showed up and showed out with extremely impressive verses; almost as if they were all in the studio trying to one up each other. Take a listen to this and see how it stacks up agains the original.

Let’s do this like church and get the announcements out of the way first. Trae Tha Truth’s new album, Street King, is on iTunes right now. So go cop that and come back here.

Now, with that out of the way, what we all came here for, shall we? Houston Hip-Hop is about as unique as the state it resonates from and houses several legendary names in the genre’s history like UGK (Port Arthur, but still) to Scarface to DJ Screw to J. Prince. There’s more, but even more so than the names are the events which have helped place the city permanently on the culture’s landscape. Tha Truth sat down with HipHopDX to reminisce on H-Town 10 most important moments. It’s a pretty good read and rather informative for those not completely familiar with double cups, candy coated whips and chopped and screwed music.
