Today Vibe revealed their upcoming Feb/March Issue of their magazine where the YMCMB Barbie Nicki Minaj will graze the front of the cover. In the in depth interview, Nicki talks about succeeding in the music industry as a woman, her sophomore album, fashion and much more. An excerpt below explains how she plans on succeeding with her next album. The magazine hits newsstands next week so be sure to pick you up a copy.

“I felt like I had something to prove to everyone who said a female rapper could not make an album unless she was talking about her pussy. And so I went above and beyond to prove that I could not talk about sex and not talk about my genitalia and still have a successful album. And I proved that. And now my time for proving things to my critics is over. I don’t really need to prove anything to anyone else anymore.”

For the August/September issue of Vibe Magazine, Kelly Rowland covers the issue topless. Well of course her hands are over the goods but still, it’s the thought of the matter that really counts. In this issue of Vibe, Kelly opens up about many things such as her relationship with the Knowles family, her seductive side, and her hit record “Motivation“. Above are a few excerpts from the magazine which hits newsstands August 16th. Vibe has also revealed that Amy Winehouse will cover the second issue of he magazine.

VIBE: The last album didn’t do well in the States. It did better overseas, particularly in Europe. Do you feel more appreciated in Europe?

Kelly Rowland: No, not really. People still compare me to B over there. I said in an interview recently, ‘You know, if you guys would be a little bit more intelligent and ask me about myself we’ll have a much better interview.’ You can’t want a story from me and keep asking me about the past.

Vibe: When you heard the song, did you think, This may be too racy for my image?

Kelly Rowland: Not at all. Every woman knows what that feels like—hopefully. But everyone doesn’t expect Kelly to sing about it. This is true. But I just loved the song so much. And yes, I can relate to it. I came into my sexuality while I was recording this album. I can walk into a sex shop now and not worry about what people would say if they saw me in there.

It’s be a rocky couple of months for DeAndre Way, better known as Soulja Boy. The now infamous video with Kat Stacks alledging to his cocaine usage became an internet sensation and a stigma he has yet to escape. His tweeting attack against Fabolous was largely looked down upon. Knowing all this, VIBE decided to Soulja their first ever digital cover. In it, the rise of one of Hip-Hop’s youngest success stories is explored.

SOULJA BOY is boiling inside. Despite his building anger, he clings to his resolve as his father asks that same damn question. He’s infuriated, yet sits quietly, praying for a conclusion to his father’s preaching. That is until young’n’s invocation is answered, allowing him to answer.

“No, Dad” Soulja says. “I don’t do no drugs.”

VIBE will be  highlighting a celebrity making an impact as the VIBE.com cover story every Tuesday. They have chosen Hov’s choice for our first cover subject: Roc Nation’s flagship rookie J. Cole. In the inaugural cover story, Roc Nation’s increasingly respected 24-year-old draft pick talks debut details, Drizzy, and ditching groupies.

What were Jay’s words when he first heard the single?
He liked it a lot, said the beat reminds him of a Biggie’s “Hypnotize.” I believe him. That’s why they call him Hov [laughs].

When I first interviewed you last year, you said your conversations with him were limited. Has that relationship changed?
Now it’s more… I think his brain is in the same boat as mine. He’s really in executive mode like, ‘How can we take this kid to the next level. What do I need to be doing as Jay-Z to help this kid.’ I can see that all in his moves.

Drake & Ike Turner Jr Chris Brown cover the new issue of Vibe Magazine. It’s so GOOD  to see a great print brand come back.  Drake in just a few short months is practically everywhere. rewind back to a few years ago to when I first met Drake. Drake came up to the Warner building to meet with Jim Jones to play him some music. Jim never showed up to the meeting of course, but Drake did play his music for Jim’s Assistant Chris. No deal was ever worked out, but fast forward a few years later an Drake has made a name for himself.  As for Chris, he needs his twitter accountant and stylist taken away.
