Creativity is NOT dead in artistry. Country rappers Yelawolf & famous drummer Travis Barker are back to prove this theory correct. The pair teams up and finally releases the “Funky Shit” visual through MTV2 videos. The video depicts real situations (well not so real, because we did see some aliens) that are displayed in the form of sketch art. Everything looks as if it is drawn on a piece of lined paper with a pencil and is extremely dope to the eyes. Read more and check the video after the jump! (more…)Read More
To give you all a bit of diversity… a mixture of three different, yet dominant genres highly regarded in the world of music (rap, rock & bluegrass) are all meshed together like a moshpit on this collective EP dropped to today by rock star Travis Barker, and fluent flowing rapper Yelawolf. Pyscho White highlights extreme drum solo’s from the tatted up Travis Barker who we all know and love, as well as rapid fire bars that powerfully spit as if from the barrel of an automatic shotgun…given to us by Yelawolf. Karen Civil recently had a chance to catch up with Machine Gun Kelly, to discuss the “beef” with Interscope Records, the release and his thoughts of the single ‘Invincible‘, and making mends with Yelawolf. Although he may be a wild boy, who says he can’t have a good side? Hit the jump to check out the video and what MGK had to say.Read More
You know what I hate most about Father’s Day? The need by so many to trash the dads who don’t deserve the credit of holding the title in the first place. On a day that’s supposed to honor the ones worth praising, so many chose today of all days to unleash their pent up venom. Anywho, Catfish Billy dropped a new tune yesterday taking time out to salute the fathers who are the first man their daughters love and the one their sons aspire to be. Expect to find this ode on Yela’s new project, Heart Of Dixie, dropping Independence Day.
And since I have the floor right now, Happy Father’s Day to all the guys out there who look responsibility in the eye and accept it. Hopefully you can watch Game 3 tonight in peace.Read More
While over in Australia, Yelawolf sat down with Rhyme and Reason Magazine to reveal that he will begin working on his sophomore album, entitled Love Story, in June, and speaks on his relationship with singer FeFe Dobson.
The real takeaway from this video though is the revelation that Yela got a tattoo on his head depicting Johnny Cash embracing a woman, and on his outstretched arm the name “FeFe” is written. Let’s hope these two stay together forever, or Yela is going to have to deal with his eventual children asking their old man who FeFe is, and why he has a freaking tattoo on his head.Read More
If you were not aware, Yelawolf recently has been taking it easy as he is nursing a serious ruptured spleen injury suffered from jumping in the crowd at one of his shows. Above he talks more in depth on the injury and thanks the fans for supporting him in his absence. Also as a thank you, he releases a brand new freestyle for the fans as well.Read More
It turns out that brief medical scare was nothing but a blip on the radar. Nothing stops the money from coming in and Yelawolf’s already back on the road. What we have here is Catfish Billy stopping by the homie Bootleg Kev’s show recently. And, if you’re familiar with the way things go in Hip-Hop, walking out of Kev’s show without dropping bars is like Dwight Howard not being asked about his trade demands.
That being said, Yela takes the hold of a rap classic, Wu Tang’s “Can It Be So Simple,” and adds his own touch.Read More
