Young Jeezy- TM:103 Album Review

Almost 2 years ago Jeezy promised us TM103 was on the way…After a couple of pushbacks and a over publicized beef Jeezy delivers the goods with his first album in 3 years.

TM103 starts off with “Waiting” much like most of Jeezy’s album intros he starts off strong. With bars that address his critics and his naysayers the SnowMan shows that this isn’t just any intro but a reintroduction to the world.

Two songs later Mr.17.5 teams up with Fabolous and Jadakiss for OJ. This song is truly one of the most standout tracks on the album. Each rapper gives a spectacular verse and adds their own stamp to the song.

A couple songs down Jeezy teams with Atlanta’s latest rising star 2 Chainz for supafreak. Sans the cliché Rick James reference that comes to mind when you read the title this song this song has high replay value.

“Trapped” is one of the best songs from Jeezy at least in my eyes… Everything goes together so well with this song… Although he isn’t a mega lyricist Jeezy paints a picture that will have you playing this song over and over again.

Another stand out track is “F.A.M.E” features frequent collaborator T.I. with his first official verse since being released from a 11 month stint in prison. As good as these two sound together kinda makes you hope for at least a mixtape collaboration between the two. While this song serves as a shot to haters and detractors it also signifies the unity going on in Atlanta at this moment.

I do has been one of the most talked about tracks for this album since a Andre 3000 Verse leaked a year ago. This probably should have been one of the lead singles for the album. Smooth sounding and star powered Jeezy, Jay-z And 3 stacks all give memorable verses to this superb track.

Overall this isn’t a lyrical masterpiece but this album serves as a reminder to everyone in the hip hop community that Jizzle is back for the spot that he earned 6 years ago. The album lives up to all the hype that surrounded it and is one of the standout projects this year. Hopefully Jeezy won’t have us waiting that much longer for a new project
